BOOK REVIEW TIME!! :)

Hello Friends,

Today I want to do something a little different. I want to introduce a new series I will be doing called Book Review Time. Book Review Time is just what it sounds like!! πŸ™‚ I will review and biefly talk about books that I have read and would recommend that you read too. So to get into the first review book, it is…. *drum roll* ….

Joel Osteen’s Become a Better you: 7 Keys to Improving Your Life Everyday

I absolutely LOVE this book. It is the first Joel Osteen book I have every read and it was great. This book really helped me. Inside this book, he breaks down how to live life the best you can in seven steps. I’m not going to give everything away but I will tell you the steps and briefly go through them. So let’s get started….!!

1. Keep pressing forward.

This section of the book spoke about no matter what your going through just keep going forward. No matter what the devil is trying to do to knock you down with, Joel encourages us to keep moving knowing that God is on our side and we will be victorious in the end. So keep moving forward, and press through any obstacles you may be facing.

2. Be positive toward yourself.

This section is about speaking positive affirmations over you life. He teaches us how to speak good things into existence. Such as, “I will live and not die, I will get this job, I am happy, I can do anything I put my mind to, I will get this new house, and my family and I will get better.” In this section, Joel reminds us that we have to first believe it before we can actually see it. (This section helped me the most! Thanks, Joel Osteen!)

3. Develop better relationships.

This section is about developing good relationships with people. Joel wasn’t just talking about with family and friends, but he encourages us to make better relationships with the people around us. Such as teachers, co-workers, the cashier at the store, just anybody you come in contact with. He teaches us in this section to just be courteous and kind to everyone and not just be in a rush all the time. To actually appreciate everyone and this will build a better relationship between people.

4. Form better habits.

Form better habits taught us just that- how to do things better and how to get into the practice of doing good things for people. Some better habits were as simple as opening the door for people or helping someone out whenever they need help. Other better habits were as big as really listening to people talk about thier problems and helping them anyway you could or trusting God with whatever is going on in your life and trusting God that He knows what He’s doing and will not harm you but prosper you in every way possible.

5. Embrace the place where you are.

Embracing the place where you are is all about loving where you are in life at the moment no matter where you are. Joel encourages us in this section to just let go and let God and just appreciate where you are so you could appreciate where your going. Even if your not where you want to be or not in the best place or situation, Joel teaches us to just push through these times and be happy because these are the times that’s going to make you into who you God intended for you to be. Be glad about these times so you can look back and see how far you came, how strong your are, and give all glory to God because He brought you through so much and He deserves to be praise. Thank You, Jesus!! Amen! (This chapter also has helped me a lot! What is meant for your harm, God will turn around and use them for your good. Believe that!)

6. Develop your inner life.

Develop your inner life teaches on creating a very close or inner circle for your life that helps and motivates you to be the best you be. This section speaks on developing better relationships, work/school experiences, and just things that are beneficial to you. Develop your inner life is all about creating a happy life inside yourself and around you that will promote and inspire you to be true to who you are, stay joyful no matter what, and stay encouraged follow God’s way.

7. Stay passionate about life

This section focus on staying passionate about your goals and dreams. Just staying positive and having faith that God has so much more in store for you and it is not the end. Stay focus on God, don’t limit Him because you can never limit God and what He wants to do through and for you, and God can and will take you places you never imagined possible. This section helps you to know that God loves you and what you to live and have the best life possible and ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST. The road is not over, it’s not dirty, it’s not limited…. The road is far from over, the road is shinier than anything else, and this road never ends. (I LOVED this part of the book because it taught me that God wants my dreams to come true and He will make them come true if I believe I can make it too them and even pass them and most importantly if Ibelieve God cares for me and wants to give me His best! Thank You, Jesus!! Amen!) πŸ™‚

So overall, this book is a VERY good read. It has helped tremendously. Joel Osteen speaks in a way that you will understand what God wants and what you can and should be believing. He use lots of personal and general examples from what he is explaining. This book is amazing I definitively recommend it. And while you are at it, sign up on his web site for his daily devotionals emails. They will pick you up and keep you going when you are down or keep you flying when your up. So with that said, God loves you so dearly, keep believing and having faith, and KEEP on KEEPING on!! Amen! Talk to you soon!! πŸ™‚

God is Love,

O, LORD! My Strength!

Many blessings, DLaShawn
